Original timepieces, designed, developed and delivered.

A singular vision.
Across every detail.

A design and completions studio creating commissioned timepieces for automotive and residential partners. From original design through manufacturing, Swiss assembly and final delivery, R.T. Adams directs each commission with a watchmaker’s attention to proportion, material and finish.

The studio’s perspective

An object can carry the character of the world it belongs to. A shared curve, a material, a considered detail—translated into something personal.

01 / Automotive horology

One design language.
Two expressions.

Two complementary color studies explore the relationship between a hypercar and its owner’s timepiece. The case, dial and strap respond to the vehicle’s palette, structure and material character.

Material continuity

Moon Glass, a composite created by our material partner Fat Carbon in Lithuania, connects the case and dial through texture and tone. Smoked Sapphire Crystal adds depth and contrast.

Mechanical expression

The tourbillon is part of the composition, framed by the geometry and depth of the dial.

A considered ownership experience

A proposed timepiece program developed around the character and configuration of each commissioned vehicle.

A closer study

Structure. Texture. Detail.

The rear-wing supports inspire the open geometry of the watch hands. The vehicle’s honeycomb grille becomes the dial structure. Its color palette carries into the Moon Glass case and dial.

02 / Interior & object study

From the cabin
to the wrist.

An independent redesign study of an existing Maextro vehicle, exploring exterior and interior treatments by R.T. Adams. Conceived by R.T. Adams as a first-of-its-kind exterior starlight fascia, the signature star front brings the starlight concept to the vehicle’s exterior, establishing a visual language carried through the cabin and into an inspired timepiece.

The inspired timepiece

Starlight, carried with you.

Three specific details connect the timepiece to the vehicle: R.T. Adams’ star front fascia becomes the starfield dial; the faceted cabin control inspires the crystal; and the quilted seats inspire the strap.

Exterior → dial

Star fascia → starfield.

The constellation-like front fascia designed by R.T. Adams is carried into the watch’s starfield display.

Cabin control → crystal

Facets → reflected light.

The cut surfaces of the cabin’s control knob inform the watch’s faceted crystal.

Seating → strap

Quilting → texture.

The seat upholstery’s diamond quilting is echoed in the black watch strap.

03 / Residential horology

The character of a place.
Carried with you.

Original timepieces conceived for developer-commissioned residential collections. Architecture provides the starting point: its proportions, materials, light and sense of place.

The Art of Handover

The collection is included with its designated residences and presented at handover in a bespoke case, accompanied by a Bernard Favre display.

Created for the development

Each residential commission begins with the architecture and its identity, interpreted through mechanical horology.

Business partnerships

Residential collections are commissioned and funded by the developer. Inquiries are welcomed from development and brand teams.

04 / The Artist

R.T. Adams Jr.

Founder & Creative Director

An artist’s eye.
A technical foundation.

R.T. Adams Jr., Founder and Creative Director

R.T. Adams is an independent designer and watchmaker whose background spans avionics, luxury aircraft completions and more than a decade of watch design, manufacturing and product development.

He founded RHYNO Timepieces in 2014, with more than 2,500 mechanical timepieces produced. That experience informs a practice rooted in proportion, material exploration and the relationship between an idea and a finished object.

Today, R.T. Adams operates a design and completions studio, designing, developing and producing commissioned timepieces for automotive and residential partners. Each project begins with an identity worth translating—the character of a vehicle, the architecture of a residence or the qualities of a material.

R.T. Adams directs the creative work and retains final design sign-off, protecting the original artistic intent from the first study through realization.

Philosophy
“I believe the most meaningful objects are connected to place.”

Materials, proportions and experiences give a place its identity. A timepiece can carry that identity into everyday life.

Inside the creative process

From a line.
To an object.

Selected sketches, design studies and material compositions reveal how an idea develops: first through the hand, then through proportion, construction and finish.

03 / Visualizing the form
Architecture as a starting point

Identity, carried into the dial.

An architectural plan becomes a graphic motif. The same geometry is explored in daylight and in a luminous night study. These timepieces are exclusive to the villa development for which they were created.

Material & proportion

The details belong together.

Texture, tone and mechanical form are considered as one composition. Material boards connect the watch to the environment that inspires it.

How the studio works
01 / Study

Understand the identity.

Examine the architecture, vehicle or brief. Establish the proportions, materials and details that define its character.

02 / Design

Develop an original response.

Translate those observations into a coherent design, refined through visual studies and material exploration.

03 / Realization

Complete the timepiece.

The studio directs manufacturing with specialist partners, Swiss assembly, finishing and final delivery. R.T. Adams retains creative oversight through completion of the commissioned timepieces.

Generations of Exceptional
Craftsmanship

Founded in 1921, Sackett Woodworking is a fourth-generation family business dedicated to the art and craft of fine carpentry. From grand homes to one of a kind heirlooms, we approach every project as a unique opportunity to apply classic woodworking techniques to modern aesthetics.

Testimonials

“When we bought our 1890s home, the original front door was beyond repair. Sackett was able to make an exact copy, down to the hand chiseled details. It’s a work of art.”

— Mollie G.

“Sackett designed and built a custom dining set for our vacation home. Without fail, it’s the thing everyone comments on. I couldn’t be happier with the work and the experience of designing it with them.”

— Gabriel H.

“It’s nearly impossible to find people who still apply classic woodworking techniques, but Sackett is keeping those traditions alive. Their work has a beautiful and timeless quality.”

— Griffin H.
